Iodoformium Homeopathy therapeutic range of actions as per Boericke Materia Medica

Should not be forgotten in the treatment of tubercular meningitis, both as a local application to the head and internally (Bacil). Tuberculous conditions.

Patient profile of Iodoformium:

• Head: Sharp, neuralgic pain; heavy sensation in the head, difficult to lift from the pillow; itching of occiput; symptoms suggestive of meningitis; interrupted sleep with sighing and cries; excessive drowsiness.

• Eyes: Dilated pupils with unequal contraction and poor reactivity; diplopia; failing sight due to retro-bulbar neuritis and central scotoma; partial optic disc atrophy.

• Chest: Sore pain in apex of right lung; sensation of weight on chest, as if smothering; cough and wheezing worsen at bedtime; gripping pain in left breast resembling hand grasping at heart base; presence of hemoptysis; asthmatic breathing.

• Abdomen: Scaphoid abdomen; chronic diarrhea with suspected tuberculosis; distended abdomen with enlarged mesenteric glands; presence of cholera infantum; chronic diarrhea with greenish, watery, undigested stools and irritable temperament.

• Extremities: Weakness in legs, difficulty standing and walking with eyes closed; weakness in knees when ascending stairs.

As per Boericke Materia Medica it addresses central or toxic neuropathies leading to vision disturbance (Diplopia) 

Dose.- Second trituration. Three grains on the back of the tongue will relieve the attack of asthmatic breathing.
